Wish lantern Loves the Humble Firefly

wish lanterns and firelfies are both beautifulSummertime means that there are plenty of opportunities to get out into the countryside, sit in the tall grass, lie back and enjoy all that nature has created for us- particularly when the sun is setting, and colours in the sky begin to change. Something else we love about dusk is the possibility of seeing fireflies emerge, with their range of colours that glow in the dark, and create beautiful effects, just like our own wish lanterns when released. There are some differences between the two however- the light from the Firefly, also known as the Lightening Bug, is created by a series of chemical reactions that take place in the bug’s lower abdominal organs. All you need for wish lanterns is a lighter or matches.
Other similarities of the firefly to our wish lanterns include the fact that each come in a range of colours; with the insect, reddish-yellow bugs can be seen just as the sun begins to set, whilst the green-tinted ‘versions’ show themselves later in the evening. Of course, with our lanterns, the different colours can be released at any time of day, in any order, according to your own personal tastes.
