It may seem obvious, but when you first receive your lantern, be sure you open the packaging very carefully. In your haste to experience the pleasures of sending your wishes skyward on these beautiful, colourful creations you could potentially tear the paper body.
When you’ve opened it up and carefully installed the fuel cell, make sure that none of the paper touches the fuel cell. The easiest method is a two-person launch. One person holds the lantern while the other lights the fuel. However, the job can be done single-handedly as well. And of course make sure you do the launch in an open space clear of trees and other flammable objects. If you follow these steps you’re guaranteed a successful launch.
