Baby showers are a fun way for your friends and family help you prepare for the iminent arrival of your new baby. Usually it’s a female only affair and is celebrated in a similar fashion to a birthday party with food, presents and games.
Usually guests will bring along a gift for the baby such as clothes, toys and sometimes some guests will get together and purchase larger gifts like a cot, stroller or changetable. So why not be a little bit different and bring along some sky lanterns to the baby shower?
Sky lanterns are a beautiful way to welcome the baby into the world, you can purchase them in a variety of colours too so if you know what the gender is already snap up some pink or blue lanterns! There’s also yellow lanterns if the mum-to-be is going to wait until d-day for the reveal!
Sky lanterns are small paper mini hot air balloons that float up into the sky carrying wishes with them. You can even write your wishes onto the lanterns with a soft felt tip pen and watch as they drift away with the lanterns.
A great idea for the baby shower is to have your guests write their wishes for the baby onto the lanterns then release them all together. It will look gorgeous and will be a fun activity to do all together at the end of the shower.
